Because of its high resistance to heat and UV radiation, ASA is an excellent filament for outdoor applications. It is also notable for its high chemical resistance.

Winkle ASA filament (1.75mm or 2.85mm) is made in Spain for 3D printers that use FFF / FDM technology. ASA stands for acrylonitrile styrene acrylic, a thermoplastic created as a replacement for ABS.

In comparison to ABS, our ASA improves weather resistance and UV ray resistance while retaining all mechanical qualities. Spherical particles of weakly cross-linked acrylate rubber (rather than ABS butadiene rubber) are chemically bonded with styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer chains and implanted in a styrene-acrylonitrile matrix to operate as an impact modifier. Acrylate rubber varies from butadiene-based rubber in that it lacks double bonds, giving it ten times the weather resilience and UV resistance of ABS, as well as higher long-term heat resistance and better strength chemistry. ASA is substantially more resistant to breaking caused by environmental stress than ABS. It has a lower glass transition temperature, giving the material greater low-temperature characteristics.

ASA is distinguished by its exceptional resistance to outside weathering, which preserves the gloss, color, and mechanical qualities. It is durable and rigid, with good chemical and heat resistance, a high gloss, and good antistatic qualities.
